The aim of the Last Litter program is to break the cycle of unwanted litters within the community.
Owners of pregnant pets have to agree to surrender the entire litter of kittens or puppies to HHAR and we will have all of the vet work completed and put the kittens and pups up for adoption.
At the same time, we will organise and pay to have the mother cat or dog sterilised and then return the adult to their owner.
This is a win/win for the owners who often do not have the finances available to desex but then find themselves with extra costs associated with the unwanted and unplanned pregnancy/birth.
There are conditions that apply. Please complete the following form - which will be made available here when the program resumes.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land where we work and live, the people of the nation and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
